Utah law currently bans advertising cigarettes and tobacco products on billboards, buses, streetcars, placards, and similar public displays; this bill would extend that same public advertising ban to electronic cigarette products (vapes) and other nicotine products. Retailers who sell these products would still be allowed to post a sign on the front of their store identifying themselves as a dealer, and advertisements in newspapers, magazines, or periodicals circulating in Utah would remain permitted. Violating the public display ban would continue to be a class B misdemeanor.
